He was born on 18 August 1963, in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, but currently, he lives in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Ed attended Andover High School, and later he completed his graduation from Central Michigan University.

Ed Currie Career
In 2001, Ed moved to South Carolina, where he started growing peppers in the yard. During this time, he experimented with various crossbreeds.
Later in 2003, he started the PuckerButt Pepper Company, which deals in selling extremely hot pepper seeds, pepper mesh, and hot sauce.
Moreover, Ed’s company PuckerButt Pepper is the largest organic pepper farm in the US. One of his hot sauces named The Last Dab was specially made for the YouTube show Hot Ones.
Ed is known for cross-breeding peppers to create the hottest pepper. In 2013, his creation Carolina Reaper won the Guinness World Record for the World’s Hottest Chili.
This record is later broken by another creation named Pepper X. Moreover, currently, Pepper X is considered the hottest chili pepper on earth with 2.69 million SHU.
In 2020, he appeared in the episode Chili Eating in a Netflix documentary We Are the Champions. He was also featured on the TV series Dirty Jobs.
